Dior at Harrods

Last Thursday I went to Harrods, but not to buy something for me, but to see the new exhibition entitled Dior at Harrods.

1947. The year that Christian Dior started designing, creating a modern style in France at the end of the war, and so begins a legend.
The exhibition includes several topics:

• Explaining the concept CD in their designs, and architectural pieces marking the feminine silhouette.

• UK and Dior. Christian Dior loved England and the English style and  department stores like Harrods. And his friendship with Princess Margaret, sister of the current British sovereign.

• The perfumes. Christian Dior could be called Couturier-perfumer, in 1947 created the first perfume, Miss Dior, who is actually the face of this perfume is Natalie Portman and we can be seen in the exhibition the advertising's famous flowered dress.

• Videos with advertising campaigns, the most famous collections of different Creative Directors of Dior, like Yves Saint Laurent, John Galliano, Gianfranco Ferre or the current designer Raf Simons.
• Some celebrities dress and the names of the most important clients of the firm, as Sophia Loren, Princess Grace of Monaco, Marlene Dietrich, Marion Cutillard, Lauren Bacal, Sarah Jessica Parker, the Duchess of Windsor, Penelope Cruz, and more.

• And finally, the Lady Dior wallet in tribute to Lady Diana.

The exhibition runs through April 14 at the 4th floor of the famous English shop.

El jueves a la tarde tuve que ir a Harrods, pero no a comprar algo para mi, sino a ver la nueva muestra titulada Dior at Harrods. 

1947. Es el año que Christian Dior comenzó a diseñar, creando un estilo moderno en Francia a finales de la guerra, y asi comienza una leyenda.

La exhibición comprende varios temas:

• Explicando el concepto CD en sus diseños, como piezas de arquitectura marcando la silueta de la mujer.
• El Reino Unido y Dior. Christian Dior amaba Inglaterra y el estilo inglés y las tiendas de departamento como Harrods. Y tambien su amistad con la princesa Margareth, hermana de la actual soberana inglesa.
• Los perfumes. A Christian Dior lo podríamos llamar Couturier-perfumer, en 1947 crea el primer perfume, Miss Dior, quien actualmente la cara de este perfume es Natalie Portman y se puede ver en la exhibicion el famoso vestido floreado de la publicidad.
• Videos con campañas publicitarias, desfiles de los más famosos Directores creativos de la casa Dior, como Yves Saint Laurent, John Galliano, Gianfranco ferré o su actual diseñador Raf Simons.
• Algunos vestido famosos y los nombres de las más importantes clientas de la firma, como Sofía Loren, la princesa Grace de Mónaco, Marlene Dietrich, Marion Cutillard, lauren Bacal, Sarah Jessica Parker, la Duquesa de Windsor, Penélope Cruz, y más.
• Y por último, la cartera Lady Dior, en homenaje a Lady Diana.

La muestra estará hasta el 14 de abril en el 4to piso de la famosa tienda inglesa.
